Winter and Holiday SADs

You better watch out,

You better not cry,

You better not pout...

Have you had less energy? Need more sleep?

Feel less productive or creative? Feel sad, down or depressed?

Have less control over your appetite?

If you answered ''yes'' to any of the above you may be experiencing Winter Blues, Holiday Blues or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Use our Self-Help Strategies:

  • Use or view more light - take in some sunshine.
  • Use electric blankets, warm beverages to warm yourself and feel cozy.
  • Plan a vacation in the winter.
  • Balanced Diet - High-carbohydrate, balanced with protein and low calorie.
  • AVOID BINGEING ON SUGAR AND ALCOHOL.
  • Exercise, Exercise, and Exercise!
  • Take time for yourself to manage your stress.
  • Restrict sleep - Don't hibernate like a bear!

Be mindful of your moods, how you are feeling, and remember to make time for yourself!
